May 8, 1923 – Nov 8, 2015.
Daughter of Cecilia (Polly) and Vincent Vaz; wife of John Victor Morais; beloved mother of Herbert, Benedict, Elaine, Dawn and Justin.
Grandmother of 9, great-grandmother to 13.
Our mother was a beautiful woman of many talents, boundless kindness and unstinting hospitality. She loved God by loving her family, her friends and her neighbors with a generous heart and compassion. She was the most precious blessing God gave us. She has returned to her eternal rest with her Maker, to be welcomed by the angels and those who have gone before her.
She will be dearly missed and is forever inscribed in our hearts.
On this Thanksgiving, I am grateful most of all for the blessing of devoted parents who kept us grounded in faith and family; who taught us the importance and the joy of giving by giving so generously of themselves; who taught us how to be engaged in the community; who made us political junkies! I suspect there is some community organizing going on in Heaven right now. I hope St. Peter knows whose side he should be on.
Until we meet again. Peace.
Wonderful my dear!!

Nice write up and good photos.

Wonderful post in remembrance of dear Mama.
Dear Dawn,
I scarcely know how to access Facebook, but in searching for something just now (Dec 16th) saw the wonderful tribute you have given your beloved Mam. No better person to do so—with your years of practice, Dawn. This one’s really from the heart which SHE so aptly nourished in your formative years—and from which we have all tasted the beneficial fruits.
May your beloved Mam rest in eternal peace and joy, as she meets up with Dad ——once our very active PTA Assunta School member.
Tons of love always.
