So does that mean they can now get married in the church? My cousin and his partner of 30 years would love that, and so would his brothers and sisters. He’s legally married by the state of New York and now resides in Ohio. Our large family would come out in droves. Of course we love a party and were way ahead of our church on this one.
Why don’t you ask the question of their parish priest or yours, Richard? Or perhaps members of your large supportive family could test the waters in their parishes? Let’s see if the words of Pope Francis are followed by action at the parish level. I’d love to hear what kind of responses you get. aloha, Dawn
